A great start!
Thank you - when i launched on Thursday night, I really wasn't sure whether anyone would be at all interested before Christmas, but the feedback's been really encouraging.
I've had some interesting conversations already - once people get thinking and talking about this, it all comes pouring out - weird details like how it poured with rain on Silver Jubilee day and the piano that was on the back of a lorry got ruined.
I'm compiling a list of institutions from the town, local businesses, estate agents, local authorities and schools as well as the library service to contact to see what can be added at that level, but I'm most interested in the stuff that people have got at home that hasn't had a digital airing.
I'm also now putting into the plan the idea of finding an empty shop in the High Street to work from and to have some scanning workshops and parties.
I'll also be aiming to do talks in the schools midway through to open up pupils' minds to their local history as well as to put out a call for more material.
It's exciting!
There's 29 days left till this funding campaign finishes, but the sooner I reach the target, the sooner I can get properly started on the work - so find those PayPal log-in details and lets get that progress bar even further over to the right!
