Fri Oct 12 '12 Announcement from Save Little Gull Island & Lighthouse in eastern Long Island Sound

Thanks to those of you so who are making contributions to the purchase of Little Gull Island. While the bids got very high this afternoon ($290,000), we still have hope. In addition to contributions made on the indiegogo site, we also have some private donors helping out and we are soliciting more. Our hope is that the GSA accepts our bid of $150,000, made on Thursday -- not because it is the highest bid--it isn't, but because it serves the highest good for the community and the environment and is closest in line with the goals of the National Lighthouse Protection Act.
