I'm posting an update on behalf of Laith Vincent:
“Hello Everyone,
This is Laith, I’m Sophie (and Lucas’s) father and Jenna’s husband. We started the first IV drip chemotherapy treatment for our little girl on Christmas eve, of all times, and continued as
inpatient guests of Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC for three nights. While the accommodations were not quite four star, the staff was definitely top notch and incredible, and for that we were thankful.
I would never want any family to have to go through what we are embarking on, nor start anything as stressful during the holiday season (though I know we are not the only family to be doing both). However, it is precisely the holiday season and this site that makes every outpouring of support all the more meaningful. Jenna and I are overwhelmed and extremely thankful for the generosity from those we know, and many we don’t know directly, during this time of the year. It definitely helps to ease the burden now and farther on down the road.
If I had the time and energy to personally send a thank you note to each one of you that has contributed believe me I would. However, please accept this note as a thank you and when time permits, we will provide updates about our daughters journey through this awful ailment.
