Today, we have an interview with Credere Joseph - producer and actor/performer in the film. How did you meet Lance Lindahl (writer/director/actor of Hay Days), and come to be a part of Hay Days?
Me and Lance have been friends for several years and this is the third feature film that we have worked on together. He told me about the idea for the film Hay Days before he got started on the script and I loved everything he spoke of. I knew whatever he needed from me, acting, producing, etc., that I was willing to do my part to make this the best film it could be.
As a producer and an actor, you've gotten to experience the movie from many angles. What's something that surprised you from both of those aspects in the production of the movie?
From an actor's perspective, what really surprised me was the level of superior acting put on by the cast. There were several people who had acted before but were making their feature debut and they were nothing short of amazing when it came down to how well they played their parts and I think the audiences will agree. Steven Dean Davis, our main star who has been everywhere from Hollywood to Broadway, led the charge and everyone followed along. Definitely top notch performances.
Producer wise the biggest surprise was to see how efficient the first time crew came together and got this project done on time and under budget which is always key. I also am friends and had worked with 1st AD John Muth and DP Erik Murphy and they helped the ship keep sailing no matter what hurdles we ran into, made my job easier.
What was something about Oklahoma that surprised you, or favorite thing about the place?
The best thing about Oklahoma which I had never had the pleasure of visiting before the shoot was the open arms we were embraced with from the people of Stilwater. It was definitely a critical part of how smooth the filming went that we were welcomed by the residents. We didn't just go out there shoot, pack up, and leave, it was a home away from home. Several of our lead actors as well as tons of extras and several crew members were all Okllahoma residents. It was a great experience being there.
