Want to give a great big THANK YOU to the E-Board and members of the IAFF Local I-60 (employees of Southwest Ambulance) for helping get the word out on my story, my Facebook "Firefighter Donation Page", the Twitter account (@donateforaaron) and mostly this donation page by posting all of my links on their main Union page.
I started in EMS as an EMT in 1982 when there were NO Paramedics in our Province. So imagine the calls that are asked of Medic's today and try to feel what it is like knowing you have only basic skills and equipment, NO fire department assistance unless it was a car crash, three (3) ambulances to cover a city of 200,000 PLUS the outlying towns, communities and NO helicopters to help facilitate a more rapid transport. I sure had some great partners who were dedicated, despite the low pay and long hours.
I am so blessed to have a close knit group of EMS providers, Firefighters and Police Officers who have re-posted my story, gave words of support and even donated to my cause from both the USA and Canada. The pain has severely limited me in getting my story out to more outlets and because of that, there is no way I can raise the full funds needed for this surgery with this campaign alone which ends in just 8 days. We will need to look for another option and will forward that on as soon as it is established.
Thank you everyone (EMS, Fire and civilian) who has been part of this cause. I hope I can count on all of you in the (very) near future to help forward my story once a new donation site has been established.
