Hello to everyone who contributed to and shared our indiegogo campaign for DPI Studios Vol. 2. With only a few hours left it's pretty safe to say that we won't be making our funding goal. Obviously this is a little disappointing, but we really do look at it as a great learning experience. We will be far better prepared for our next attempt.
One of the most crucial things we learned is that we need to do a much better job of keeping in contact with the fans we meet at the various conventions we attend. We will be starting a newsletter with MailChimp and gathering signups at the shows. We'd like to add all of you who contributed to our campaign and we'll send out a confirmation email to make sure everyone is ok with that before we do. We had hoped that Facebook and the power of social networking would be our key to connecting with our fans but with the amount of noise on FB that's getting harder and harder.
Our current plan is to wait until after the 2013 Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo before trying again with another campaign. After the show we'll have extra money to put towards the book ourselves and be able to lower the amount we need to set for a campaign goal. Hopefully we'll have been able to also build a solid list of contacts that will help us get in touch directly with our fans.
For those of you who contributed wanting to get a portrait or one of the Ms. Frost canvases we will be in touch to see if you would still like to order those items.
