So we've been getting some questions about the trademark that we filed -- Tambour Original. Tambour is French for drum, which is one of the most recognizable and celebrated aspects of West African culture. It is synonymous with strict discipline, improvisation, and a fun time all at once, since drummers will practice for months straight to be able to perform during ceremonies and parties. Original means the same in French as it does in English, but here in Benin it is also strongly associated with quality and attention to detail. Thus, we thought Tambour Original was a great name to express our product's cultural significance, our strict and high-quality distilling methods, as well as the reminder that at the end of the day, the work put in is to be enjoyed among those most important to us.
