BIG update from IArtLibraries today! We are really pleased to roll out the new, custom design that we'll be featuring on the t-shirts and tote bags for this campaign.
Our design was created for us by Charles Barrows and Nicholas Higbee of Higbee | Barrows, a Madison-based design group. We have to hand it to these guys - they took our project concept and ran with it on short notice, and we are so very pleased with the result.
The designers write:
"The inspiration for our design was born from the idea that the library space is the most public and democratic space for artistic inspiration, collaboration, and education. The book form doubles as a symbol of learning, as much as it does a public space: an open room that cradles and nurtures artistic discourse. The elegant arc, reminiscent of an egg, symbolizes the dynamic community that surrounds this space. When the the social 'sphere', and an offered public space are working as one, free and true creative incubation can occur."
