Hi Everyone,
The very first X-Bows orders began arriving at their new homes in Hong Kong over the weekend. The others from the first batches of shipments should be arriving throughout the week. When your X-Bows arrives, please share a photo of your new X-Bows setup with us on social media. We are really excited to see them finally in user’s hands!
The key layout on X-Bows can take some getting used to. I thought that I would share some tips for adjusting to the change.
The first day, and in particular, the first hour of typing with X-Bows, can be a little frustrating as your fingers need to relearn where all of the keys are on the keyboard.
- When you are just beginning, slow down. Type deliberately and look down at the keys if you need to.
- Try your best to type with proper technique (using all of your fingers). The layout was designed to promote proper typing technique.
- Keep your palms on your desk or on a wrist rest. This helps your shoulder muscles to relax as you type.
- Use the right side training keys as much you need to. Focus on learning the letter keys section of X-Bows first, then begin to incorporate the modifier keys in the middle section.
- Be patient. If you have never typed on anything other than a standard QWERTY keyboard, retraining your fingers could take a little bit of time. Stick with X-Bows and try not to get frustrated in your first day or two. Nearly all of our early testers reported feeling much more familiar with the keyboard after the first few days and nearly up to their regular typing speed in under one week.
Follow these tips and you should have a smooth transition to typing more comfortably and efficiently.
I’ll have more info on upcoming deliveries and tracking numbers throughout the week. Thanks for your patience.
- Chris
